The BULLITT NATIONALS
2006
Pictures thanks to David Kunz
I came up on Wednesday with Matt Stone from
Motor Trend. He is doing a cover story on
the history and lore of Bullitt and the Mustang in the film, plus the
story of my car. We were awake at 5:00 yesterday to begin shooting in Chinatown
at first light. (Yes, I know, that part of town was never seen in the
movie, but they insist on throwing in some well-known images of the city.)
We worked our way through the area, ending up at Guadalupe Canyon Parkway
where the movie chase concluded. Photographer Evan Klein got some wonderful
images at every stage and Matt assures me that a good number of them
will end up in print. This story is for 'Motor Trend Classic,' which is
a bi-monthly that focuses on vintage cars and
gives each article lots of pages. Matt told
me the issue should be on U.S. newsstands by about mid-September.
