1967 BULLITT Look-Alike
Don is a diehard McQueen maniac. We presented already his garage a while ago. During the spring 2009 he met Barbara McQueen and seems to have enjoyed chatting with her as you can picture down here.
When I heard, Don sold his former 1967 Bullitt replica to Scott Allnut, I was a bit surprised, yet to learn all of a sudden that Don has bought another 1967 Bullitt Look-alike short after that sale. His new pride is presented here.
"It is a full frame-on restoration of a clean rust-free southern car. A true S-code 390 GT with factory A/C as well as factory power disc brakes and power steering.
There have been in fact only two changes from stock by the previous owner, the auto was replaced with a correct top-loader 4-speed, and the paint was changed from gold to 1968 Highland Green.
The factory A/C compressor of course has been replaced with a 134-a environment friendly Sanborn unit, and blows cold. All the sheet metal is original. The engine has been treated to a quality rebuild. O.k. one more change - the steering column has been replaced with a telescopic tilt column. The paint is flawless. The interior is new. The tires and wheels are the correct American Racing alloys with radial rubber. The rear end is the original Ford 9 inch and the undercarrige received undercoating." Don
