Sverre Johan Sandåker is the proud owner of this second ultrarare Shelby Europe 1971 convertible. It was originally built in Dearborn and sent to Bob Ford Inc., a dealer in Detroit. Bob Ford was the dealer, where belgium Shelby-Dealer Claude Dubois ordered all of his 71/72 Shelby Europes. Claude had a licence agreement with Shelby for using the Shelby name after Caroll ceased business with Ford. 14 Shelby Europes were built with only 2 convertibles known to exist. Acc. to Claude Dubois personal records, this convertible was sold to a customer named Beys in Belgium. Sverre tells us something about the history, after it left Belgium: "I own the car since 1991. Before that Rolf Frederikson owned the car for another 10 years. So at least it is about 20 years in Norway. I have no other history on the car yet. I have exchanged the floorpans recently in 2001. I drive occasionally to Meetings. The pictures attached are from Frederiksstad." The car is on sale as of May 2003. Asking price is about 32.000 Euro (or 35.000$) o.b.o. Inquiries are handled through this site (as an exemption) due to the rarity of this Mustang. Special note: No relation to the seller nor responsibility is taken by myself. I have no commercial interest nor benefit in the sale, just trying to help the seller to find the proper audience. Options were probably same as on the second Shelby Europe 1971 convertible like this:
