A Shelby in Iran?
Very few would expect it there, but in fact we knew of it for quite a long time. It was more difficult to obtain ownership from the last owner, since he wanted to keep it also in the country as a part of its country based history.

Our reporter knew of this car for quite a long time. He was engaged in getting it out of its dormitory.
But finally the deal was made by the owner with the president of the Mustang club of Iran to let it go for the promise of a decent restoration with all respect to originality.

The deal was made and two years after the car was shown recently at a big event set up in an extraordinary way for the Mustang enthusiasts to enjoy.

1. Getting ready for the big moment. To the side a short film documenting the restoration

2. Taking the wraps off

3. Now in the spotlight for public attention (again)

The proud owners - The family Bagheri, father and son restored the car together, the father is the president of the Mustang Club of Iran

Big SHOW EVENT
The Mustang Club of Iran is not a small one. Very seldom the Mustang universe however hears of it.
Reason enough to put a spotlight on them.
On the occasion of a recently finished restoration of a 1969 Shelby #9F02M482301 they gathered some club cars together and had a nice party.
The Shelby was unveiled in a spectacular show and all enjoyed the thrilling event.

Ramin reports:

I tried several times to buy this car unsuccessfully. Fortunately, one of my best friends and the President of the Iranian Mustang Club was successful in buying it and after an extensive two year restoration he debuted the car in front of the fellow club members.

The Mustang Club of Iran is an official club operating under the auspices of the Classic Vehicle Committee of Iran (an NGO affiliated with the Motorcycle and Automobile Federation of Iran ) which is also the national representative of FIVA (Federation International Vehicules Anciens).

Here is the SAAC registry information of the car as of now:

GT350, Gulfstream Aqua, white interior, auto trans, A/C, tint glass. F60-15 tires, Shipped to Ford Division (Dearborn, MI) 6/2/69 for use as a Shelby Automotive Company car. IBM sheet shows car at Minar Ford Inc. (Minneapolis, MN.) 10/6/69 Original and present owner not known.

We are just busy to get the trace and gaps filled with the registrar, so stay tuned.
